WEEK 1: GAIT ANALYSIS

Most would not consider running or walking a skill when in fact it is. As with all skills, educating yourself and practicing will make you more efficient. Running and walking properly can reduce impact, improve efficiency, and eliminate pain. It all starts with a self-assessment of your feet and ankle flexibility. From there, you can identify the steps necessary to improve. We will cover all of this and more in our gait analysis workshop.

 

WEEK 2: STRETCHING TECHNIQUES

When doing cardiovascular activity, the flexibility of your muscles can play a major role in your performance.  Having tight muscles can affect your stride length, lead to discomfort  in your run, or even cause injury. One way to help combat tight muscles is through stretching.  There are different types and ways to stretch. Knowing when and how to use these stretches can improve your flexibility and your run.

Join us in these virtual workshops to learn stretching techniques to prep your body for maximal performance.

 

WEEK 3: MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Running and tight muscles seem to go hand-in-hand.  Don’t let those tight muscles lead to injury!  In this class we will teach you the techniques of working out knots and releasing tension in the muscles that most plague runners utilizing massage balls and foam rollers.

 

WEEK 4: FUEL FOR ACTIVITY

Just like a car needs fuel to move, so does your body. It’s important to properly fuel and refuel your body, no matter if you’re walking a mile or completing a triathlon. Join our Registered Dietitian to learn some simple and effective fueling strategies to get the most out of your cardio activities.
